Getting to know our culture

For the first fun fact about our culture, both national and local, we’d like to share with you our state flag and it’s motto.

Our state flag contains the motto, “Trabalha e Confia”. The literal translation from Portuguese is, “Work and Trust”. These words are inspired by the doctrine of Saint Ignácio de Loyola: “Trabalha como se tudo dependesse de ti e confia como se tudo dependesse de Deus” or “Work as if everything depended on you and trust as if everything depended on God“.
